I found all the issues I faced stemmed from past childhood trauma, creating a lot of internal struggles such as anxiety, depression, and lack of self-worth.

I wish I could have been able to talk to someone as a child because I feel like this would have helped me get past my core wounding and slowed my progression as a happier adult. This question hit me like a ton of bricks. I realized that for years, I had been breaking promises to myself. I had been living in a state of self-sabotage.

  2. Create a productive environment. Eliminate distractions and set up a workspace that is conducive to focus. Find an area where you can ground yourself and minimize distractions, such as ignoring your phone, ignoring social media sites, minimizing open unrelated tabs on your computer, and finding a quiet workplace.
  3. Use positive reinforcement. Reward yourself after completing a task. As stated above, this will help you stay motivated and make procrastination less appealing.
  4. Practice stress-reduction techniques. Stay calm and focused by practicing meditation or deep breathing. Reducing stress can improve your focus and productivity. You will be surprised how much work you can accomplish when your mind is calm.
  5. Hold yourself accountable. Share your goals with a friend or use social media to commit to your tasks publicly, which will help you stay on track and avoid procrastination. It is easy to miss deadlines for yourself, but when you commit to someone else, it may help you stay on track.
